SATELLITE DERIVED POSITIONS
Positions obtained from satellite navigation systems referred to WGS 84 Datum can be plotted directly onto this chart. Caution must be exercised in the transfer of geographical positions to other charts not in terms of WGS 84 Datum.

NIUATOPUTAPU HARBOUR ENTRANCE
The maximum recommended draught of vessels using the channel is 3.0 metres at all states of the tide. Vessels should not attempt to enter the channel at night and should approach from well seaward at all times. An easterly swell crosses the entrance and may be dangerous at times.

FISH AGGREGATING DEVICES
Mariners should exercise caution when navigating in these waters as FADs have been moored in outlying deepwater locations. The FADs are unlit: concentrations of fishing vessels may be found in their vicinity.

AIDS TO NAVIGATION
The aids to navigation shown on this chart are not to be relied upon.

SATELLITE DERIVED BATHYMETRY
Refer to M_QUAL object for details of depths derived mainly from satellite imagery. Uncharted dangers may exist. For further information see Admiralty publication The Mariners Handbook.
