Waiheke Island - Controlled Area Notice Zone

1.) Mariners are advised that the Waiheke Island Controlled Area is in place.

2.) Within this area, you cannot fish for any seafood (fish, crayfish, shellfish) using any method that comes into contact with the seabed  for example, you must not use nets, dredges, bottom trawlers, or pots.

3.) In the controlled area, you can anchor a vessel. There are, however, legal requirements to clean the anchor, anchor chain, and any equipment used in the water before moving to another area.
